April 1-->(1961) The Beatles began a three-month, 13 week season at the Top Ten Club, at Reeperbhan 136, Hamburg. (1964) A meeting between John and his father, Fred Lennon, was arranged and took place at the NEMS main office. George and Ringo were in attendence, and the event lasted 20 minutes. (1965) Brian Epstein took out a lease on the Saville Theater.

April 2-->(1968) A new Beatles music publishing company, Python Music Limited, was formed.

April 3-->(1968) The single "Badge" by Cream, written by George Harrison and Eric Clapton, was released in the UK as Polydor 2058 285.

April 4-->(1964) The Beatles held 12 places in the Billboard Hot 100, including all of the top five slots.

April 5-->(1963) Presented with first silver record for single "Please Please Me" at EMI House, London.

April 6-->(1965) The EP "Beatles For Sale" was released in the UK as Parlophone GEP 8931.

April 7-->(1967) While in America, Paul got the idea to make The Magical Mystery Tour as a TV special.

April 8-->(1963) John and Cynthia Lennon's son, John Charles Julian Lennon was born at 6 a.m.

April 9-->(1965) The single "Ticket To Ride/Yes It Is" was released in the UK as Parlophone R 5265.

April 10-->(1962) Stuart Sutcliffe died of a brain hemorrhage in Germany at 22. (1964) "The Beatles Second Album" is released in the US as Capitol ST 2080.

April 11-->(1963) The single "From Me To You/Thank You Girl" was released in the UK as Parlophone R 5015.

April 12-->(1968) John, Cynthia, George, and Pattie returned to London from the Maharishi's retreat in Rishikesh, India.

April 13-->(1962) The Beatles began a seven-week season at the Star Club. (1963) The Beatles met Cliff Richard for the first time. (1965) Paul bought a house at 7 Cavendish Avenue in St. John's Wood, London, for 40,000 pounds.

April 14-->(1965) "Help!" was announced as the title of Beatles new film.

April 15-->(1969) John refused to sign an agreement to sell his shares of Northern Songs.

April 16-->(1968) Apple Publicity Limited was formed.

April 17-->(1965) Paul went out in disguise to shop for furniture for his new house. He was recognized by a bartender who was not fooled by his Irish accent.

April 18-->(1963) The Beatles met 17-year-old Jane Asher during rehearsals at the Royal Albert Hall. (1966) The Cavern Club was sold by a Court Reciever after going bankrupt .

April 19-->(1964) Burglars broke into George and Ringo's flat in Green Street, Knightsbridge, London. (1965) The single "Ticket To Ride/Yes It Is" is released in the US as Capitol 5407.

April 20-->(1967) John suggested a high-pitched note, beyond the range of the human ear, for the end of "A Day In The Life."

April 21-->(1965) Brian Epstein sent a telegram to Elvis Presley in the Beatles' names to congratulate him on his first decade in the music business. (1969) John and Yoko formed Bag Productions Limited.

April 22-->(1969) John formerly changed his middle name from Winston to Ono. (1969) John and Yoko taped the heartbeats used on "The Wedding Album".

April 23-->(1962) The single "My Bonnie/The Saints" by Tony Sheridan and The Beat Brothers was released in the US as Decca 31382.

April 24-->(1967) The single "Love In The Open Air" by George Martin and His Orchestra, written by Paul McCartney, was released in the US as United Artists UA 50148.

April 25-->(1969) John and Yoko attended a showing of their film "Rape" at the Montreaux Television Festival in Switzerland.

April 26-->(1969) Dr. Richard Asher, Jane Asher's father, was found dead in his Wimpole Street home.

April 27-->(1964) The single "Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You" was released in the US as Tollie 9008.

April 28-->(1963) John and Brian Epstein flew to Spain for holiday, leaving Cynthia and new born Julian nearly penniless in Liverpool. (1964) The boys performed in the "Around The Beatles" TV special, where they played out Act V, Scene I of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." (1965) The Beatles were awarded a Grammy for "Best Vocal Performance By A Group" for "A Hard Day's Night."

April 29-->(1965) Jimmy Nichol appeared in London Bankruptcy Court with debts of 4,066 pounds and assets of a mere 50 pounds.

April 30-->(1969) The Beatles paid for quarter-page ads in four national newspapers, promising to extend their songwriting services to the public.
